How This Will Help
Levels of Biological Organization help with the 'Big Picture' of how one thing connects to another thing. It's very good for systems thinking, which you started in Structure Determines Function. Whereas 4 Big Ideas and the 8 Properties of Living Things tell you what living things are, knowing levels of organization helps you understand how the living things interact. This is a directly STAAR-tested subject, so extra-critical for 9th graders. These are high-impact vocabulary words and they will help your writing!
Instructions
- Read Introduction
- Levels of Biological Organization (Vocabulary Matching) 5qs, 11 labels each, repetition less suggested)
- Levels of Biological Organization (11 cards total, repetition strongly suggested)
Additional Strong Suggestion - Spaced Repetition
If you would like to maximize your recall and ease of work during the school year, return to the 11 flashcards at the bottom of the page AND/OR the vocabulary matching 2-4 times throughout the summer, spacing the opportunities at least a week apart. Suggested dates are below and are also linked, with an explanation as to why in the 'Ideal Study Method' Page. I suggest doing the 3x option. I strongly discourage reading/watching the video every time.
